Held on the first and third Saturday of every month,
this gem of a market attracts the best local producers. It's not huge - there are rarely more than 30 stalls - but it's the sheer quality and quirkiness of the produce that won it the top prize in the BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming Awards 2014 aberystwythfarmersmarket.co.uk

Never has location and 'sense of place' contributed so much to the power of television drama.
The Welsh 'y gwyll' (literally 'the dusk') suggests a mysterious place at the edge of the world. The series was filmed in and around Aberystwyth, the Ceredigion coast and the raw landscape of the Cambrian Mountains. Come and visit this area with its undiscovered landscape of wooded valleys, upland forests, lakes and reservoirs, isolated farmhouses and open moorland which create the perfect location for the intrigue and drama of hinterland / y gwyll.
Cors Ian Nature Reserve (formally Cors Brynarth-bach) is 400 yards from Brynarth and is a very natural site. Out on the mire are stonechat, whinchat, reed bunting, meadow pipit and willow warbler. In the green lane and wooded areas other nesting birds include redstart, pied flycatcher and nuthatch. Overhead kite, buzzard, raven and kestrel are on the lookout for any betraying movement. At night tawny and barn owl quarter the mire and on the ground polecat, weasel, stoat, badger, hedgehog, fox and otter prowl! Bats hunt the many beautiful moths recorded on the reserve. Several ponds have been dug to increase open water habitat for the water voles and from the viewing platform you can watch dragonflies and damselflies dance above the water.
